About the organisation

CER is a Brussels-based, non-profit European association representing the interests of the railway sector at EU level. Founded in 1988, CER brings together close to 70 railway undertakings, their national associations, infrastructure managers and vehicle leasing companies from across Europe. Its members include both public and private operators, representing the vast majority of rail passenger and freight services and rail network length in the EU, EFTA and EU accession countries. CER advocates for a competitive, sustainable and integrated European railway system and is recognised as the employers' organisation in the EU Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Railways.
